Energy-Efficient Hot Tubs

by | Apr 26, 2023

If you’re in the market for a hot tub, one of the most important factors to consider is energy efficiency. Inefficient hot tubs lead to high monthly operating costs and a negative impact on the environment.

Fortunately, Arctic Spas® is the hot tub manufacturer that has built energy efficiency into every model. Our patented technologies help save you money on your energy bills while also reducing your carbon footprint. Read on to find out what an energy-efficient hot tub should contain regarding insulation, manufacturing, circulation, and filtration.

Energy-Efficient Hot Tubs

Insulation

One of the most important factors in hot tub energy efficiency is insulation. Hot tubs that are well-insulated are better able to retain heat, which means they require less energy to keep the water at a comfortable temperature.

Arctic Spas® uses insulation that covers the full perimeter of the tub, just like your house. We cover the floors, walls, and cabinets in a fully engineered way to guarantee you save money and protect your tub from the cold.

Our patented insulation design, FreeHeat™ will guarantee lower running costs and the ultimate protection from the cold. This system uses and retains excess heat, like your home,  rather than wasting it. If you reside in hotter climates, FreeHeat™ might even eliminate the need for your heating element at all!

Quality Manufacturing

When looking at a tub, you will want to highly consider the quality of manufacturing. A less expensive model might save you upfront costs but tend to have a shorter lifespan. This typically means that you will start to experience issues in less than five years!

The foundation of any hot tub is found in the shell. At Arctic Spas®, we combine precision and strength when it comes to our tubs. We specifically designed our spas for the world’s harshest climates and no cost-saving shortcuts were taken; no plastic backing, no props or supports, and no foam is ever applied to our shell. We are so confident in the strength of our hot tub shell that we offer a lifetime warranty on the shell structure!

Circulation

The pump and motor are responsible for circulating water and heating it in the hot tub. These components can significantly reduce the energy required to heat and circulate water in the hot tub, resulting in lower energy bills and a smaller environmental impact. Having a premium motor that draws less amperage while still providing a higher flow will save you on costs while still doing what they are supposed to.

We solved the issue of high power and lower energy bills by sourcing out new High Efficiency Pumps. These pumps draw minimal amperage yet produce an extremely high volume of water flow. Higher flow pumps will do a better job of pulling contaminants out of your water through your filtration system.

Filtration

After a long stressful day, the last thing you want to do is jump into a tub without proper filtration. How about having a low-maintenance, cost-efficient filtration system? Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?!
Our Progressive “Smart” Filtration allows you to have sparkling clean water with minimum effort and customizable options. Through years of engineering and testing, we’ve created a superior filtering system that uses multiple layers of different filter media to effectively capture all sizes of particles found in spa water.

What does this all mean? Your filter will be customized specifically for your area ensuring you have the longest-lasting filter possible.

We pride ourselves on investing in materials and technology that will ensure we strive for a healthy planet. Through superior insulation, quality manufacturing, high-efficiency pumps, and smart filtration we know we have achieved excellence when it comes to energy-efficient hot tubs!
